Shauna's 5yr goals

1. James is healthy.

2. I change my job/career. Ideally, I do not work a M-F schedule.

3. The family lives closer within 1-2hrs away.

4. I see my nephews (possibly nieces) at least every two weeks.

5. The family has a large space where we can gather for dinners, holidays, and spend vacation time.

6. James and I have paid off our college debt.

7. The family has developed and implement of a way to pay off debt to mom and dad.

8. Make a plan for mom and dad when they get older. We sort out details that will be more challenging if they are sick or have passed.  I want to do the hard work now so we don't disagree when we grieve.

  1. I borrowed a few of your ideas. I like all of yours. I'd like to see you for a glass of wine tonight.

  2. I also want James to be healthy. I also want you to work a more flexible schedule in a job that feels closer to your soul's purpose. I want to see you more often, I like the idea of every couple of weeks. AND, also we could meet up in the city or whatever and go do things without nephews! Sister date love

Family gathering space is important to me...a place to eat, play music and games, sleep nearby, make breakfast together once in a while, explore nature together...

I hadn't thought about adding the bit about college debt...I think I might tweak mine to be about my financial net worth. I would like to pay off debt, and build savings!

I am so glad you have brought the conversation of paying off mom and dad to the table. I hadn't thought much about it, but when we talked on the phone, I could tell this is not just a matter of financial health, but also about warding off resentment in our relationship health.
    LOVE YA
